TV Mounting to Home Theater: What AV Installation Costs in NJ

“Just mount the TV” almost never stays “just mount the TV.” Once the screen is up, you notice the speakers were an afterthought, the wires are showing, and the remotes are a mess. Audio and video is one of those jobs where a bit of planning up front saves a lot of frustration later. Here’s an honest look at what AV installation involves in New Jersey, and what it costs.

Start with the room, not the gear

The best home theater isn’t the most expensive one. It’s the one built around your actual room. Wall construction, where the light comes in, how far you sit, where the wiring can run: all of it shapes the design. We size the system to the space and the way you use it, rather than dropping a template on it.

TVs, sound, and the upgrades that matter

Most jobs start with a screen and grow from there. The common jobs we do in New Jersey homes:

  • TV mounting (basic) — on a stud wall, cables tidy
  • TV mounting with hidden wires — power and HDMI inside the wall
  • Large TV mounting (75″+) — heavy-duty mount, two-person install
  • Soundbar installation — mounted and paired to the TV
  • Surround sound setup — 5.1 or 7.1 speakers wired and calibrated
  • In-ceiling speaker pair — flush speakers, wiring and amp setup
  • Home theater consultation — room measurements and a plan

Hiding the wires is the upgrade people are happiest they paid for. It’s the difference between a TV on a wall and something that looks built in.

Going bigger: projectors and media rooms

If you want the real cinema feel, a projector and screen changes the room completely. A full media room brings the picture, sound, lighting, and seating together into one space.

  • Projector installation — ceiling mount, wiring and alignment
  • Projector and screen package — projector, screen and wiring
  • Media room installation — picture, sound, lighting and seating
  • Whole-home audio system — music in every room from one app

Business AV starts with a site visit

Conference rooms, restaurants, retail, and event spaces are a different animal. Display size, wall type, power, cable paths, and acoustics all change the design, so commercial AV almost always begins with a walkthrough. From office displays to conference-room systems and video walls, we scope it on site before we quote.

What moves the price

Every number above is a starting estimate, not a final quote. What changes it: how many displays or zones, whether the wires can be hidden, wall and ceiling construction, cable run lengths, and the equipment you choose. For a home, a few photos of the room usually get us close. For anything commercial, we’ll walk it with you.
