What moves the price
- Wiring. Older homes often have switches without a neutral wire. We check before recommending smart switches so you do not buy the wrong ones.
- How many rooms. Lighting is priced per switch, so a 6-switch kitchen costs more than a 1-switch hallway.
- Platform. Consumer gear (Google, Amazon, Apple Home) is cheaper up front. Pro platforms cost more but stay stable for years and can be serviced.

Not for lighting, locks, thermostats or garage control. Cameras and some doorbells have optional cloud plans; we set most cameras up with local recording so there is nothing to pay monthly.
Will it work if the internet goes down?
Local control (switches, locks, thermostat) keeps working. Remote access and voice assistants come back when the internet does.
Can you add to it later?
Yes. We build on platforms that accept new devices, and we document what is installed so additions are simple.
